Amanda Anisimova beats Coco Gauff in China Open Semi-finals

Defending champion Coco Gauff beat 6-1 6-2 with third-seed Amanda Anisimova in the Chinese Open semifinals.

Wimbledon and U.S. Open finalist Anisimova took only 58 minutes to cruis her fellow Americans and will play Jessica Pegula or Linda Noskova in Sunday’s final.

In an excellent season, Anisimova rose to fourth in the world in the competition and showed off her class demolished French Open champion Gauff.

She lost only five points in her first match in Beijing and won the first five games with an advantage.

“I was able to do well,” Anisimova said.

“I know if I want to win, I’ll have to play well with Cocoa and I’m glad to make it to the finals.”

Gauff’s only loss in the major courts in Beijing was the 2023 Iga Swiatek, which is also a semi-final.

She was out of place throughout the process, with five double faults and hit a series of shots and went into the net.
