Shintaro Fujinami and NPB team logo

Former Major League Shintaro Fujinami Return to Japan. The team announced that he signed with Nippon Professional Baseball’s Yokohama Dena Baystars. The tough right was released in a minor league contract with the Mariners last month.

This could mark the end of two and a half seasons in Fujiwara’s affiliate ball. 6’6″ Righty has fastballs above the 90s but can’t take advantage of his stuff. Before the 2023 season, the Rebuild A spent a year on Fujiwara, the 3.25mm pilot. They initially gave him a rotation chance, but he struggled with the hardships in seven games and quickly moved to the bullpen.

Although Fujiwara had an 8.57 ERA in his 34 appearances, they managed to turn him to the trade deadline Orioles. He has a 29 2/3 frame for Baltimore for 4.85 ERA ball. Fujiwara received a major league deal from the Mets when she returned to free agent. He never made a MLB appearance in New York, spending time on the injured roster before being assigned as a mission.

Fujiwara sells in Puerto Rico throughout the winter to seize another affiliate opportunity. He signed a minor league contract with Seattle in January but struggled with 5.79 ERA in the 18 2/3 Triple-A inning. Now, he will return to NPB, where he has 3.41 runs in 10 seasons.
