2025 Simulation Draft | Fangraphs Baseball

1. Washington National
Select: Eli Willits, SS, Fort Cobb-Broxton HS (OK)
Before Mike Rizzo let go, people would have put Ethan Holliday here given the regime’s favoritism with Holliday’s agent Scott Boras and the Rizzo era’s preference for high school players. There are industry speculations that key parts of Washington’s core might make sense (James Wood, Mackenzie Gore), who are also Boras clients who don’t accept the idea of expansion, and the frustration created may make the new leadership team less willing to work with Boras who represent here without the name Eli Willits, which may make the new leadership team less willing. About an hour before the draft, I began hearing rumors that Washington was seeking a deal with Holliday, Anderson, or Wilt, regardless of who occupied the least group. Willits’ next pick appears to be fifth, giving him the most likely cut to the biggest deal.
2. Angel of Los Angeles
Choose: Liam Doyle, LHP, Tennessee
To align with Angels’ consistent approach to the rapid-moving college students’ modus operandi, the team put them in deals with Doyle (most frequent), Kade Anderson and/or with Ike Irish. I do have one person who thinks they are a threat to Holliday, but there is only one.
3. Seattle sailors
Select: Ethan Holliday, 3B, Stillwater HS (OK)
If the Lottery Gods were kind to you and you moved in like a sailor, would you feel like you were playing with the money for the house and willing to pick up potentially changing the franchise players?
4. Colorado Rockies
Select: Kade Anderson, LHP, LSU
This is often considered Ethan’s floor. It was thought that Colorado would have been on the college arm if it wasn’t here, and in this case Anderson was.
5. St. Louis Cardinals
Select: Billy Carlson, SS, Corona HS (CA)
Many Eli Willits smoke here, although if Jojo Parker and Billy Carlson’s camps think they are deep, it’s probably a difficult target. There are enough teams like Ike that he can go from here to option 10.
6. Pirates in Pittsburgh
Select: Ike Irish, c/of, Ouben
The ones mentioned here are Jamie Arnold (in Anthony Solometo mechanical molds, which makes sense), Aiva Arquette and Billy Carlson, but the paint around Pittsburgh has almost never been correct in the past few years. The Irish may be the fastest hitter in the draft class. Like the players in the draft, he is a stable position player’s prospect, just like the clock ticking in this front desk to form a competitive team.
7. Miami Marlin
Selected: Seth Hernandez, RHP, Corona HS (CA)
The team put all the high school shortstops here, along with Ike Irish and Seth Hernandez. Carlson performs from a contact perspective, but has some visual hit tool risks, similar to last year’s Carter Johnson and PJ Morlando.
8. Toronto Blue Jays
Select: Aiva Arquette, SS, Oregon
I don’t have any specific paint here, and it’s a good value if the Arquette falls. College pitchers with fastballs tend to be in the Toronto style, which may bring a mix of Jamie Arnold and Kyson Witherspoon. I’m not sure if any high school shortstops scratch their itch, because they’re all older.
9. Cincinnati Reds
Select: STEELH HALL, SS, HEWITT-TRUSSVILLE HS (AL)
Seth Hernandez, if he is here. The team believes the Reds are keeping their choice open and that they are playing a role in any high school shortstop. In this case, Parker and Hall are here. Hall’s speed and athleticism are better suited to what they tend to do.
10. Chicago white socks
Select: Jojo Parker, SS, Purvis HS (MS)
11. track and field
Choice: Jamie Arnold, Florida LHP
12. Texas Rangers
Select: Gavin Fien, 3b/of, Great Oak HS (CA)
13. San Francisco Giant
Selected: Tyler Bremner, RHP, UCSB
14. Tampa Bay Light
Select: Kyson Witherspoon, RHP, Oklahoma
15. Boston Red Sox
Choose: Gavin Kilen of SS, Tennessee
In recent days, people have mentioned that Arnold is declining. A would be a great buy for A. Texas has mentioned Fieldan and Jace Lavelt. Now that Buster Posey is running things, industry sources will attract more college players to the Giants. I was told that the ray was the floor of Kyson Witherspoon. Boston is expected to be a model-driven draft pick, and the kiln ball-strikes are there. He could also go to San Francisco earlier. This is the region where people think Daniel Pierce will reach a deal.
16. Minnesota Twins
Choose: Andrew Fischer of Tennessee 3B
17. Chicago Bear
Choices: Josh Hammond, SS, Wesley Christian HS (NC)
18. Arizona Rattlesnake
Select: Daniel Pierce, SS, Mill Creek HS (GA)
19. Baltimore Orioles
Select: Wehiwa Aloy, SS, Arkansas
20. Milwaukee Brewery
Selected: Caden Bodine, C, Coastal Carolina Coastal
Arizona has a lot of draft picks, so maybe there is more motivation to cut trades, and Pierce is considered to have one in this range. Baltimore has attracted tool academy hitters on board discipline issues over the past few years, and this year it’s Aloy. Milwaukee has tended to target high school students recently, but contact-oriented middlemen (Bodine, Marek Houston) can also attract them.
twenty one. Houston Astronauts
Choose: Jace Laviolette of A&M, Texas
twenty two. Atlanta Warriors
Select: Gage Wood, RHP, Arkansas
twenty three. Kansas City Royals
Select: Xavier Neyens, 3B, Mount Vernon HS (WA)
twenty four. Detroit Tiger
Selected: Kayson Cunningham, INF, Johnson City HS (Texas)
25. San Diego Priest
Choose: Marcus Phillips from RHP, Tennessee
Houston aims at the tool classmates’ goals, even if they have three-pointers risk. At this stage, that is Jace, and if he was there, that is Aloy. There are a few surface grab arms here, and here are good fastballs for Atlanta to consider (Patrick Forbes, Matthew Fisher); that’s their type, a riding heater with a good circuit breaker.
26. Philadelphia Phillies
Select: Dax Kilby, INF, Newnan HS (GA)
27. Cleveland Guardian
Choose: Devin Taylor, Indiana
