Scottie Scheffler lost a precious item. He found another one on eBay

Scottie Scheffler has made over $90 million on the golf course and has more money, but if we know nothing about the world number one, it is that he is a simple taste man.

He plays golf because he loves playing and honing to get better, and, because he is really good at it. He likes his Chipotle and routine. He values his faith and his family. We learned that he is not a too luxurious thing either.

Although obviously at least one He will pay for something.

On Thursday, in a fresh 67 games at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, Schffler was asked if he was superstitious. “Somewhat,” he said, adding that he has had the same yardage cover for the past four years and often uses the same Divot tool and ball markings every round.

He even really likes Divot tools, and he goes to his best – eBay! – When he loses the original, buy a replacement. But it’s more than just any separation tool.

“It’s from Cape Cypress,” Schefler said. “But I don’t use it because it comes from a cypress point. It’s the right size and is metal, so they no longer really make these types of Divot tools, so I found one there and I kept sticking with it.

“I bought it in the store,” he continued. “I bought one last year or two years ago, and I lost it sometime and literally I couldn’t find another tool like that. Then I went to eBay and found a cypress penalty mark and paid $50 for it. Then, I went back this year and they were a little cheaper on site, so I got a couple of couples.”

Does he like this special reason very much?

“Just a habit. There’s no reason. I like it,” he said. “It’s very good in size, it’s available in the US. I think it’s cool.”

And, if you’re wondering, someone outside sent a ball marker directly to Scottie Scheffler, who said he used his name when he purchased it.

“He sent it to me and wrote me a little notes and everything,” Scheffler said. “He’s a good guy.”

In non-marked news, Scheffler’s 67 put him behind Akshay Bhatia’s five first-round leads, who fired 62. Scheffler’s second round is already in progress, although the current FedEx Cup leader will have no issues, no issues entering next week’s BMW Championship or next week’s tourism championship.

“It was a great day,” he said. “I did something solid. It felt like I almost played great, but ended up with a solid round. It was a good start overall.”
