22 players elect free agents

Now that the season is over, we will start to see several players choosing to be minor league free agents. Major League free agents (i.e. players with more than six years of major league service) will enter the open market five days after the end of the World Series, but qualified minor leagues can already start electing free agents.
To qualify, these players must have been completely eliminated from the team’s 40-man roster in the 2025 season without adding. These players also have to complete multiple careers on their resume and/or at least three years of American career time.
We will provide updates about many other players coming on the market this way in the coming weeks. These free agent decisions are listed on the MLB.com or MILB.com trading page for further reference.
