Rory McIlroy

Rory McIlroy named England Legend his favorite footballer.

McIlroy became the sixth man to finish a professional grand slam earlier this year, and the Northern Ireland finally won the Masters in April and is now preparing for the Ryder Cup, which will take place in New York from September 26-28.

The 36-year-old revealed that it was difficult to combine the role with the player, saying: “I was asked to do this and then refused.

“I don’t think you can do it.”

That said, given that the current world No. 2 is the only European player in the top five, he will play a major role later this month.

Although McIlroy eventually became one of the greatest golfers of all time, one of his first lovers was football, supporting Manchester United, who had previously described the English legend as his favorite player.

McIlroy said of overlap: “I love (Wayne) Rooney, he just works so hard, he runs everywhere, and after watching him 90 minutes, you’re just exhausted. Becoming so great, but when someone loses or loses the ball, having that work ethic and tracking back. To me, he looks like he looks like he likes football, I love watching him, I love watching him.”

The Grand Slam champion also suggested that Manchester United’s legend is still underrated, saying: “It’s amazing how great things he does, you’d say, are underrated to some extent.”

Rooney is a “generation” player

McIlroy didn’t choose Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi as his favorite player, which is perhaps surprising, as there are 13 stages between legends between Manchester United and Barcelona legends.

However, Messi himself has made it clear before that his evaluation of Rooney is highly expressed: “Wayne Rooney is one of a generation for me. One of them doesn’t have a fairly special player with the others. There are a lot of special players, but Rooney has excellent quality and technical skills and is one of the most powerful players I’ve faced, and I face a great work rate – no one likes him.”

The United Legend won 17 trophys during Old Trafford, while also amassing 120 blocks for the three Lions, second only to Peter Shilton on the list of all time, which is undoubtedly one of England’s best players ever.
