Rocky Mountains Assistant GM Zack Rosenthal resigns

Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reported that Zack Rosenthal, vice president of baseball business and assistant general manager, vice president of Zack Rosenthal, vice president of baseball business and assistant general manager. Rosenthal has been in his portfolio as assistant general manager since the 2014-15 offseason, and after Bill Schmidt has improved his full-time job from interim General Motors (GM) after the 2021 season, the vice president is located in his portfolio.

After four disastrous four-year game, Colorado has won just 231 games since its opening day in 2022. This year’s team is just one of the worst teams in Major League Baseball history, lasting 43-119 records (6.65) in the modern era of baseball (6.65) and worst spin (6.65). Ownership has been said that the next front desk boss in the Rockies will be someone from outside the organization, which seems to be a club that once criticized because one has often criticized too isolated to keep in touch with analysis and development trends, and development trends in the sport are commonplace.

With that in mind, it’s strange that other long-term front desk staff like Rosenthal are outing the door, as the next executive may have a large berth to recruit their own staff. Since Schmidt’s title is General Motors, not the president of Baseball Operations, Rosenthal is his de facto second place, the only assistant general manager of the Rockies.

Rosenthal told MLB.com’s Thomas Harding (multiple links) that he made his decision. “I’m lucky to be in an organization for more than 20 years,” Rosenthal said.So many amazing experiences and memories. My first full-time season was World Series Year [in 2007]. That was magical…I wanted nothing except the success of the Rockies. The city deserves a team to play, as there is no Coors Stadium in October. ”

Rosenthal started his baseball career at A, and worked as an intern with the Red Sox, arrived in Denver in 2006 as a player development intern. From there, he became an assistant to baseball OPS and then a director of baseball surgery. Rosenthal is not only a baseball-specific duty, but also an assistant general counsel for the Rockies, working most of his time at the club, dealing with legal matters related to front office affairs and the business operations of the team.
