Bull, Josh Giddey

The Chicago Bulls and restricted free agent Josh Giddey are still in troubled contract publicity negotiations, although both sides remain active throughout the offseason discussions.

Josh Giddey, Bulls about $8-$10 million

Rumor has it that Giddey signed a $11 million eligibility offer, making him an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2026. But of course this is just gossip.

The 6-foot-8 wing is reportedly hoping to stay in Chicago.

Giddey, who was 23 in October, is seeking a $150 million deal similar to Orlando Magic defender Jalen Suggs. This will make the four-year veteran $30 million a year.

“He wanted to make a deal to stay in Chicago and the Bulls wanted him as the foundational work, especially in helping them bring Alex Caruso’s guard Alex Caruso in the last offseason,” he said. Chicago Suntime.

“They are between $8 million and $10 million a year.”

ESPN’s Jamal Collier reported earlier this month that Giddey and Bulls officials had “active” contract negotiations in the expectation that the parties will eventually “finally” reach an agreement.

NBA executives investigate Giddey’s contract

The sport recently conducted a survey of 16 people working in the front office of the NBA, asking each member of the limited quartet that they believe is a “fair” contract: Jonathan Kuminga, Quentin Grimes, Cam Thomas and Giddey.

Fred Katz and Joel Lorenzi, 14 of the 16 participants had an average annual salary of between $20 million and $25 million. His average annual value in the poll also reached $22.3 million.

An executive tagged him as a $18 million player.

“If you offer a four-year contract, it has to be right,” another executive said. “But Giddey, you can offer a four-year contract. Giddey is abnormal because he might be great enough to be a four-year player.”

The executive was one of four respondents who believed $100 million in four years, and it was fair to Gidey.

According to Spotrac, Giddey signed a four-year, $27.21 million rookie-scale contract in August 2021. He made $6.58 million in 2023-24 and earned $8.35 million last season. Both of these salaries are club choices.

Giddey enters its fifth NBA season in 2025-26

Giddey will enter his fifth NBA season in 2025-26. In 70 games (69 games) last season, he averaged 14.6 points and professional highs, with 8.1 rebounds, 7.2 assists and 1.2 steals, respectively.

The top six draft picks in the 2021 draft also shot 46.5% from the field and shot the highest from 37.8% from three-pointers. He ranked 20th with defensive rebounds (439) and assists (503).

In his last 19 games, he almost averaged 20 points and triple-double.

According to ESPN’s Bobby Marks, there is no restricted free agent market in the offseason as salary caps and severe fines exceed the concerns of the first and second aprons.

The Bulls acquired Gidey in a trade deal that brought Alex Caruso to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
