Retro 2025 MLS 3rd Kit leaks before leak

After last year’s Retro third suite was successful for five MLS teams, Adidas brought the concept back to 2025, this time on a larger scale.

Up to 13 clubs are expected to receive a third ball-turn kit this season, with designs that draw inspiration from past club eras, retro aesthetics and regional identity.

While only Miami’s version has been officially released, several other versions have been leaked – they are full of bold callbacks.

So far, this is what surfaced:

Minnesota United’s third kit leaked through the footsteps headlines, features a bright, shiny blue base with white and orange accents and intricate diamond patterns. “Loons” replaces the front sponsor logo with a stylish custom font.

Folk singer Noah Kahan may have worn it on stage at a spring concert and may have leaked the Columbus crew’s third set of 2025. Jersey pays homage to the club’s MLS era, bringing back bold blocky stripes and the original three-person crown.

The third set of Dallas Football Club’s kit appears to have leaked when current player and USMNT defender Chris Richards was found wearing in the crowd during a visit to his home. The design restores the club’s Dallas Burning Identity, featuring orange and black hoops with a vintage name splashed in the front.

New England’s third kit appeared in the leak, showing off a unique 90s vibe. The design features diagonal curtains and chest stripes, and the front is boldly printed with a “revolution” – obviously without any club badges, adding a retro feel.

The San Jose earthquake appears to have unveiled their 2025 third kit in a recent game with the help of NFL Hall of Fame Jerry Rice. Jersey pays tribute to the club’s 1996 San Jose conflict identity, restoring the same chaotic pattern and a vintage palette.

Nashville SC’s 2025 third suite also surfaced through the footsteps. At first glance, while simple, there is only the club name ahead – outstanding details are in the sleeves covered with subtle dotted denim textures that reference Tennessee’s signature fabric legacy.

The third kit leaked by Seattle Sounders is a tribute to their 1994 pre-ML look. The purple base paired with turquoise and bright blue decor with a text marker to replace the sponsor logo and the regressive peak that appeared in the early 2000s (Orca Crest).
