Minnesota Wild Sign Marco Rossi to 3 Years Extension – Hockey Writer – NHL News

After a lot of deliberations between the parties, Marco Rossi, Minnesota Field and Center, has agreed to an extension of the contract. The 23-year-old will be a three-year contract each year starting this season.
Marco Rossi’s deal will hold $5 million in AAV. $4 million, $5 million, $6 million, so he will enter an unrestricted year to $6 million

Rossi avoided a sophomore downturn in 2024-25, improving his career highest in goals (24), assists (36) and points (60). Although small, the 5-foot-9 center is comfortable on the net line and is one of the best playmakers in the field throughout the season. He sometimes plays a frontline role with an average ice time of 18:15.
He may have rubbed the banging center of the game in the wrong way is his playoffs. He recorded three points in the team’s first round exit, but only 11:08 ice time, which was the fourth minute. In the event of trade rumors before this, seemingly disrespectful gestures will only amplify these conversations.
Although Rossi signed a contract with very reasonable hat-shooting percentages over the next three seasons, he wasn’t necessarily clear. The Carolina Hurricanes signed star forward Martin Nečas in the 2024 offseason, but traded him to the Colorado Avalanche a few months later.
If the only problem between Rossi and Rossi Wild is a consensus on the contract, then this problem is solved and the team itself is a reliable top six contributor. His impact may be even greater in 2025-26 and beyond, which could make Minnesota not only return to the playoffs, but ultimately cause some losses. In ten years, they have not surpassed the first round.
