Real Madrid talent Gonzalo Garcia and Los Blancos realize their “dream”

Real Madrid’s rising star Gonzalo Garcia described his experience at the Club World Cup as a “dream” after continuing his impressive scoring run with club icon Club Icon Raul.

The 21-year-old striker scored four goals in five matches in Madrid, including a major strike in a third-final victory over Dortmund on Saturday.

Gonzalo currently shares the top spot in the Golden Boot game with Al Hilal’s Marcos Leonardo and Benfica’s Angel DiMaría, who have all scored four goals in the game.

Since the advent of the Raul legend in the 1990s, Madrid supporters have longed for local offensive talent.

The former captain scored 323 goals in 741 games before being beaten by Cristiano Ronaldo and later Karim Benzema on the club’s all-time scoring list.

After Gonzalo left his mark with Madrid’s Castilla Squad, Gonzalo now hopes to prove that he deserves Raul’s comparison as he makes a leap under manager Xabi Alonso.

He said: “They [fans] Comparing me to legendary Raul. If I could do half of what he did in this shirt, it would be more than a dream.

“I’ve been working, waiting for opportunities, but I don’t think of that in my dreams.

“I don’t have much pressure. I’ve been working and waiting for this moment.

“Coaches, players, staff have given me a lot of confidence. Kyrien [Mbappe] Yes…almost…can be said to be the best player in the world. I was lucky enough to share a court and training with him and learn from him. ”

Gonzalo’s performance helped Madrid into the last four games of the club’s World Cup, but their journey wasn’t without attention. In the victory over Dortmund, Madrid almost let their lead slip after admitting two late goals.

Goalkeeper Thibaut Courois said it was necessary to make improvements before the semi-finals with defending Champions League champion PSG, which will be held in New Jersey on Wednesday.

“We have to analyze our game and then we’re going to work in the next game,” Courteis said. “PSG is a great opponent, currently Champions League champion, and their season is great.

“It’s going to be a tough game, they love having, they’ll be good, so we have to be prepared.

“The team is doing well. We press well, we defend well, we attack well. Sometimes we need more property to kill the game. That’s what we have to do better.

“We’re getting better every game, learning more from the coach, and bringing what he wants in the game. It’s not always going to happen, but we’re getting better.”
