Real Madrid 3-2 Dortmund

Real Madrid overturned Borussia’s late Borussia comeback to a 3-2 victory in a pulsating encounter in the club’s World Cup.

Although tourists had been late for visitors, goals from Gonzalo Garcia, Fran Garcia and Kylian Mbappe were enough to accommodate the host, while Maximilian Beier and Serhou Guirassy went on strike.

From the beginning, both sides showed off their offensive intentions, which was Madrid’s game. Dortmund threatened early through Julian Brandt and Serhou Guirassy, but initially Real Madrid.

In the 10th minute, young forward Gonzalo García opened the score with a championship on the weighted cross of Arda Guler.

Just ten minutes later, Fran Garcia doubled Madrid’s lead, pounced on a loose ball in the box and rushed home with his left foot.

The 2-0 buffering made Xabi Alonso more confident around him, who took ownership of the big spell in the first half. Both Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham are close to expanding their lead before the interval, while Dortmund is largely limited to long-range efforts.

During the break, Dortmund made some tactical changes, introducing Maximilian Beier, Felix Nmecha and Yan Couto in the hopes of triggering a comeback.

Beier, in particular, had an immediate impact, forcing Thibaut Courtois to save at the beginning of the second half. However, Madrid is still dangerous on the counter, with Luka Modric and Kylian Mbappe introduced in the 67th minute testing Gregor Kobel with stinging efforts.

The drama really starts with downtime. In the 90th minute, Dortmund’s perseverance finally paid off, as Beier crossed Coutois and brought a lifeline to the tourists.

But their hopes were almost immediately shattered. Just a minute later, Arda Guler offered an excellent cross, Mbappe locked in the bottom corner and hit the bottom corner.

Still, there is a twist in this game. In the 96th minute, substitute Dean Huijsen was shown a straight red card to foul inside the box and admitted the penalty in the process.

The Dortmund striker stood up and kicked the spot to the upper left corner, making it 3-2 and setting it for the last few minutes.

With the ten men in Madrid, Dortmund pushed forward to find an equalizer. Marcel Sabitzer had a huge chance in the added time, but Courtois once again proved to be the difference, jumping off his left to prevent midfielder efforts and retaining the victory.
