Rangers’ Raba, Perelt and Bellad deserve the attraction in the opening night lineup – Hockey Writer – Rangers’ Prospects

The New York Rangers entered the preseason and there seemed to be very few squads to grab. However, three players forced the difficult decision: Gabe Perreault, Noah Laba and Brett Berard. Last season, Perreault has played in five NHL games, recording meaningful minutes and gaining first-hand experience. Berard separated the time between Hartford and the brief call, showing the speed, energy and flashes on his body that defined his game. Meanwhile, Raba scored a strong junior in his junior year at Colorado Academy, scoring 26 points in 29 games. All three of them were great in the first four preseason games and it was hard to get out of the roster.

Pre-season performance

Production matches ophthalmic testing. Laba led the preseason with four assists, showing calmness and vision at his level of experience. Perreault added two goals and created space and won the battle against the NHL game at his pace. Berard made goals and assists efforts in playing, the same intensity that defined his college career.

These numbers can only tell a part of the story. Each of these three played a tough few minutes, participated in each class, and looked like they were on this level at this level. Their efforts have translated into results, and their results clearly show that they have won a seat in the conversation.

Gabe Perreault

Perreault’s skill level has never been questioned, but the starkness before this season is that he looks faster and stronger than last year. Last season, he showed his playing skills in five games with the Rangers, but sometimes looked like a player who adapted to the NHL pace. This fall, the adjustment seems to be completed.

Through camp and preseason, Perreault participated in hockey battles, ice skating created space and played a role with confidence. His two goals underlined his offensive instinct, but it was his way of consistently pushing the pace and competing for the hockey, which made the biggest impression. The Rangers have been waiting for his physical game and he shows signs he has done it.

Noah Raba

Raba entered the camp without any NHL games, but he carried himself like a player who belonged. His vision and decisions stand out in every look, allowing him to slow down the game and perform well under pressure. This calmness translates directly into production; he leads the Rangers in preseason score with four assists.

At 6-foot-3, Laba’s scale could handle NHL traffic, but that’s how he read the ice, getting him apart and resulted in four assists. His 200-foot game appears in all cases. In the preseason, he was used to murder, adding to his value. He doesn’t just fill in shifts. He is making his captivity better, the most obvious sign he deserves.

Brett Berard

Berard established his case to rhythm and ruthlessness, which did not change. The camp he added was a consistent physical presence. He has been completing inspections and landing thumps, attracting attention every time he stepped onto the ice. This advantage combined with his speed makes him effective in pre-review and it is difficult to get opponents to fight.

So far, he has also attacked with goals and assists. More importantly, his energy is infectious, setting the tone for his lines and showing that he can provide sparks in any character. For players of his body, being able to play fearless and capable is what makes him stay strong. Berard looks like someone ready to play six bottom characters from the start of the season.

Final impression

The remaining two preseason games are available and the assessment is not yet completed. But Laba, Perreault and Berard all offer a clear case for opening night. Laba’s vision, Perreault’s speed and Berard’s energy all stand out and is supported by the effort and consistency the coach seeks. If they keep it in the final adjustment, it’s hard to exclude them.
