Rangers place Leody Taveras on a complete exemption

The ranger has already released the outfielder Leody Taveras The only waiver, reported by Ken Rosnethal of Track and Field. Taveras can continue to play for Texas until he is declared to end, which separates the “complete exemption” process from more standard task designations. If a claim occurs, Taveras's new team will assume the rest of its 2025 salary, which is approximately 3.88mm.
Taveras entered the season with three years and 124 days of official major league service, which played a major role in his exempt status. Since Taveras has served for more than three years, if he clears the immunity, he can refuse direct missions to Triple-A and become a free agent. But as he has less than five years of Major League Baseball service, becoming a free agent means Taveras will give up the 3.88mm of his remaining salary.
