Prince’s Golf Club announced that its exclusive smuggler landing gin has been awarded the Best Gin in England – a mature gin at the 2025 World Gin Awards.
The gin is produced in collaboration with a local brewery to commemorate the opening of the club’s coastal golf hole, the landing of smugglers.
Not only is this limited edition launch popular with members and guests, but now it has received national praise in the spiritual industry’s most respected global awards program.
The concept behind gin was born from a conversation between the club and the brewery, inspired by the smuggling heritage associated with the shoreline around the prince.
Gin is aged in Gamecock rum barrels and was previously used to mature the award-winning high-end rum of the still.
Due to the deliciousness of gin, the initial plan was to rest for three months, and as the flavor continued to evolve, the spirit eventually ageed for a longer time. The result is unexpected complexity and balance of gin.
“It turns out that it’s really special,” said Jon Mills, director of Canterbury winemaker and winemaker. “I’m not a person who usually drinks gin, but this – the richness of the rum barrel – I’m glad to do it.
We did it specifically for the Prince and it turns out we were the best in England. ”
What makes gin favorable
The plant mixture behind the smuggler lands in gin includes Sea Buckthorn, a native plant that is wild on the Prince’s route and makes a real connection to its surroundings.
Other botanicals include juniper, coriander seeds, angelica root, Orris Root, lemon zest, ginger and pepper, lending gin to its smooth, unique flavor.

This customization method adds to the uniqueness of the product and further enhances Prince’s quality experience.
