Leicester’s goal is to build a team that will be able to return to the Premier League immediately in the 2026-27 season, and for this they may need to sign a new starting goalkeeper. Mads Hermansen has attracted a keen interest from West Ham in recent weeks and if he does leave, a replacement is needed.

If Hermansen does leave, Leicester will hope to receive a huge fee, which will help them work hard to raise funds after relegation from the Premier League. Some of the funds raised will be used for a new first, and they may eventually come from Manchester City.

According to Ben Jacobs (via Leicester’s Fox), Leicester is one of the fun clubs to sign Stefan Ortega. The German goalkeeper is also within Burnley’s range and he may also need to finish a new starting first in the near future.

Ortega will leave Man City, who will re-sign from Burnley as James Trafford is about to return. In this regard, the 32-year-old should be used at a reduced price, especially given that he has less than 12 months left at Etihad Stadium.

There is no doubt that Ortega has made 56 appearances at Man City in three seasons, which will be a brilliant addition to Leicester’s championship side, although there will certainly be doubts about whether he wants to drop a division – especially when Burnley also plays for him.

For now, it remains to be seen whether Leicester takes action for Ortega, although their wish is that their wish will depend on whether Hermanson is leaving in the coming weeks.
