Former NBA player Danilo Gallinari’s pregnant wife Eleonora Boi is opening up and was recently bitten by a shark while in the water with two children.
The Italian Sports News reporter first revealed that she conducted a shark attack at a Carolina resort in Puerto Rico in an Instagram post on August 1.

“I had to say I was traumatized. I started crying and screaming, and I was screaming in the Italians,” Boi recalls.
The attack occurred when Boi and Gallinari swam in waist-deep water with their children. Boi explained that she wasn’t initially worried about the shark immediately after the bite.
“I was in pain and my thighs were burning. But my thoughts were maybe a huge jellyfish. But in fact, it wasn’t jellyfish.”
Galinari recalls rushing to his wife and daughter before sending her family out of the water.
“I’m with my son when everyone starts screaming. I run toward my wife and daughter,” said the former Denver Nuggets forward, who is currently playing for Vaqueros de Bayamón in Puerto Rico.
Good Samaritans helped boi
When the couple picked up the child and rushed to shore, they said a woman put pressure on Boi’s wound with a clean towel until the help arrived.
“She was an angel. Danilo was with me and she helped a lot.” “I wanted to say thank you to this woman because I didn’t know her name.
“I just want to say thank you to her because she helped her a lot. … Oh my god, I said, ‘I don’t want to die.’ I want my kids to be safe, I’m crying.”
Boi said she was transported to Río Piedras Medical Center, where doctors performed hours of testing to make sure the baby was OK before deciding to perform surgery for her.
“After they confirmed that the child was fine and he had nothing happened, they started the surgery.”
According to Tommy Foster Jr. and Suzanne Yeo of ABC News, BOI’s doctors told her they had never treated the victim of a shark bite, but hoped that Boi would fully recover.
She added that her body recovered “a faster than the mind.”
Boi, Gallinari, married in July 2022, is currently visiting weekly with her doctor and is scheduled to give birth in November.

The 6-foot-10-season Gallinari played in the NBA for the last time in the 2023-24 season.
He has played for 14 years with the New York Knicks, the Denver Nuggets, the Los Angeles Clippers, the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Atlanta Hawks, the Washington Wizards, the Detroit Pistons and the Milwaukee Bucks.
For every basketball reference, he scored a career-high 47 points on 15 innings (65.2%) in 23 innings in 144-143 overtime wins against the Dallas Mavericks on April 10, while Deep hit 12-12 (58.3%).
In 777 professional regular season (563 games), he averaged 14.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 28.8 minutes per game, while the floor shot 42.8% from the field, 38.1% from three-pointers and 87.6% from the foul line.
