This is the beginning of an iteration of this period. However, the Predators got on the board first midway through the first half, with a spot-up shot from Michael Bunting deflecting the ball wide.

Less than a minute later, the Predators extended their lead when Matthew Wood took a broken pass from Bunting and fired a wrist shot from the top of the right circle past Dustin Wolf, who still picked up an assist.

They added their third goal less than three minutes later, when Jonathan Marchessault scored on the Predators’ second power play opportunity with about five minutes left in the first period.

The 3-0 lead lasted until the first intermission, as the Flames outscored the Predators 15-11 heading into the second period and trailed by three goals through their first 20 possessions, replacing Wolfe in net with Devin Cooley.

After a scoreless second quarter, the Flames broke the deadlock less than five minutes into the final period when Jonathan Huberdeau grabbed a rebound on a shot at the door to extend his winning streak to four games.

The Flames got within one with eight minutes remaining when Nazem Kadri made a nice move to get to the center of the ice and found Joel Farabee for a one-timer on the rush.

The Flames came close, however, as they were hit with a late penalty that cost them a chance to comeback. Filip Forsberg then stole the pass and scored in the empty net to give the Predators a 4-2 victory.

In just over a month, the two teams will meet again in Nashville in early December. Before then, the Predators will host the Vancouver Canucks on Monday and the Flames will play the second half of a back-to-back against the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday.
