Popular concerts get sick on site

Max Homa says he misses the fans. The same goes for sports news. In early February, no sports news was bigger than this NBA blockbuster: Luka Doncic was traded to one of Homa’s favorite teams.

But he had never heard of it.

At least for a moment.

“I don’t know, but I got 12 text messages in the first five minutes,” Homa said.

He said nothing else about his days on X (formerly known as Twitter). He decided to stop using the platform earlier this year, which was a little surprising because he might be the most attractive user of Pro Golf — but he said Wednesday he felt better about it.

Homa said before this week’s John Deere Classic that X “has become a safe haven for angry people.”

Homa said: “If you don’t choose to sit at the table with that mean person, if you’re there and someone is rude to you. You either ask them to leave or you’re leaving.

“Twitter or X is a horrible place. It took me a while to grab the impact of it and how much energy was wasted. But I miss the connection with fans, but nothing, but I mean, I mean too much hatred and anger. There’s a lot of love there, too, but unfortunately, it does really work – you’re really bad.”

In March, Homa said the location was “for the patient” and he was “sick.” Previously, he might have been known on the platform where he plays baking users’ swing videos.

But on Wednesday, he called X “a safe haven for the ** hole.”

“I don’t know if it’s the gambling world or what,” Homa said. “I’m glad they can do it because it looks as fun as hell of golf, but you’ll get people to say something bad.

“It has nothing to do with not connecting. I would love to keep connecting with people, but I’m trying to do more in person because I haven’t met a person yet and he’s said anything that’s even out of reach.”

Did Huma feel different after stopping?

He said he had realized he didn’t need the site.

Homa said: “When you get out of it the first step, you feel like you’re missing something, but you start to realize that you’re absolutely not missing anything. I think that’s it – I wish I could have done that earlier. But, like I said, a big part of getting all the support from social media is part of being through social media and connecting with people. I’ve met some great people through the internet. But I think it’s a negative thing – than it must be – and more importantly, it’s a more positive thing.
