Players disqualified from Donald Trump’s course after domination

Donald Trump’s recent visit to Scotland has sparked a lot of controversy, but his newly opened course is still making headlines due to the error.

British golfer Sam Bairstow is one of the match favorites, with Calum Hill in Scotland being disqualified at the 2025 Nexo Championship at Trump International Golf Sinks after losing a expensive scorecard.

At the end of the first round at Bairstow, the 26-year-old was found in the first round of 75 (+3 par) instead of the 73 (+1) he thought he scored.

He handed over and signed the lower score in the scorer’s tent according to DP World Tour rules.

In a completely independent incident, Hill also found himself missing Trump’s new route than he hoped in the eighth hole of the second round. This move also disqualified him from the game.

The disqualification of Bairstow and Hill led to any points in the season-long Dubai game that could also fall on the table.

How does Bairstow disqualify Nexo champions?

Left-handed Bairstow made a big mistake on the 14th hole of the par 4. He recorded five points, and in fact, he took seven shots to finish the hole.

After missing the fairway, Beersto hit a temporary ball after failing to find his original tee. He continued to move forward and finally dug out, thinking he was five years old. However, he seemed to have forgotten his free throw, which should have been a triple taboo.

Ironically, neither of his game partners noticed the difference, and Bairstow signed an incorrect scorecard and was disqualified from the Nexo title in just one round.

Hill’s game ended suddenly

Hill arrived in Trump’s international golf field, aiming to develop in his recent solid form and landed on the ground with a second win of the season, but had no plans to start from scratch.

The Scots hit a disappointing quarter-point 76 on Thursday, which made it take a second round to have any advancement.

However, for the 30-year-old, the second round of the game was not going well. After nine holes on Friday, he sat +6 for the game, knowing he needed to shoot at least three shots in nine games to avoid early exits.

Hill missed a 9-foot putt and a few short follow-up attempts on the 8th hole (his 17th). He then simply decided that he was enough and shoveled the ball without completing the hole – automatically disqualified under the golf rules.

Hill talked about his “Strop” at the Scottish Open ahead of this week’s DP Tour in Aberdeenshire.

“The Scottish Open is very strange,” Hill said. “Everything bounced and ended up falling. It’s just one of those guys who stayed away from you a day. I’m kind of sprinting.”

When asked how Hill deals with frustration, he said: “It’s a question for Miranda (his wife) and I’m not sure I’m good at self-observation.”

Meanwhile, DP World Tour professional David Micheluzzi is full of praise for Trump’s new course, after previously released the first round in Game 4.

“The new course on Trump’s International Golf Connection is definitely a treat,” he said.

“It has everything you can think of, it’s great to play. The beautification of the hole is incredible and it’s really cool to have a chance to play with it.”
