Pirates recovered from 60-day IL

Pirates announce right-handed Justin Lawrence Recovered from the 60-day list of injuries. Correct Colin Holdman In the corresponding active lineup, triple A Indianapolis has been selected to be sent to Indianapolis. The 40-man lineup has several vacancies, and the number of this deal has risen from 38 to 39. MLB.com’s Alex Stumpf reported the move ahead of its official announcement.
Lawrence, 30, was exempted from the Rockies’ waiver in March. He threw 11 1/3 innings for the Bucs, allowing only one run, and then an elbow inflammation brought him into the IL in 15 days in late April. In early May, he was quickly transferred to the 60-day IL, indicating that the club did not expect him to come back before July. Although he missed most of the season, he became healthy in time and might be able to log in a few innings before winter arrived.
He spent his entire career in the Rockies before being asked by the pirates. He gave Colorado’s 194 innings a running average of 5.43, 21.3% strikeout rate, 12.5% walking rate and 50.9% ball rate. The Rockies gave him up in March when Bucs decided to catch him, perhaps hoping his 90s speed could translate into better results from Coors Field. The initial results were encouraging, but the injury hindered.
Lawrence qualifies as the super two player from last offseason. He and the Rockies agreed to pay a salary of $975,000. Bucs will have to decide whether to sign him a 2026 contract. Since he missed most of the season, he wouldn’t give him a lot of pay raises. He has no choice and therefore cannot easily send it to minors.
