PGA AROEIRA NO2 unveils 25th anniversary new course upgrade – Golf News

Next month, the iconic Portuguese begins a major renovation of its popular course, PGA Aroeira No.2, and will continue to make exciting new investments in PGA Aroeira Lisboa.
Donald Steel's classic design will be a similar makeover in the summer after Donald Steel completed a massive upgrade to PGA Aroeira No. 1 in 2024, as part of an investment made at the Lisbon venue that launched its new identity with PGA Aroeira Lisboa last October.
The course, formerly known as Aroeira Challenge, is celebrating its 25thTh This year’s anniversary will benefit from significant maintenance and quality enhancement of key elements including all serving boxes and bunkers.
No stone cannot work hard to consolidate the status of PGA Aroeira 2, one of the best golf experiences in Portugal, and will also be improved on fairways and Greens as well as general landscaping and five featured lakes on the route.
The cart paths and bridges across the entire layout will also be enhanced, but in line with Steel's original field of view, the physical specifications of the layout (known for its harsh testing by participants of all skill levels), and its routing will remain the same.

The renovation was renovated after a similarly transformative overhaul of PGA Aroeira No. 1 (formerly known as Aroeira Pines Classic) last year.
The state-of-the-art irrigation system and drought-tolerant Bermuda Grass are implemented in the 36-hole complex, emphasizing the resort’s strong commitment to sustainability to significantly reduce water use.
Nuno Sepulveda, a management company of nuno Sepulveda – Hotel, Sports, Leisure – PGA Aroeira Lisboa, said: “After the great success of the renovation of Arooeira No.1 last year, the program has always shifted our attention to PGA Aroeira No. 2 and has carried out this important project in 2025 and worked on this important project.
“The PGA National brand is synonymous with quality in courses and courses, so the team at PGA Aroeira Lisboa has been working tirelessly to renovate, refurbish and enhance every aspect of the experience, and upgrading Donald Steel’s much-loved course is a key part of the process.
“We look forward to revealing the best iteration of this 25-year-old classic course this fall.”
