Penguin Draft Benjamin Kindel 11th overall – Hockey Writer

With the 11th pick in the 2025 NHL entry draft, the Pittsburgh Penguins pick Benjamin Kindel from the Western Hockey League (WHL) Calgary Killer

About Benjamin Kindel

Benjamin Kindel is another highly skilled two-way center for the draft class. He is known for his outstanding skating and passing skills, and he is always one of the hardest players on his team, transfer and transfer. He also has a high hockey IQ that can help him get into the high-crisis scoring zone of the offensive zone and eliminate his ultimate threat. He isn’t afraid to get into dirty areas on the ice, nor is he willing to check and help his team in every situation, whether it’s a power game, a free throw kill or even a power.

Jindell is an outstanding performance of the Calgary Killer this season, scoring a career-high 35 goals and 99 points in 65 games, up from his 15 goals and 60 points in 68 games last season. He also made his debut in the WHL playoffs, scoring eight goals and 15 points, demonstrating his ability to strengthen the game at the most important moment of the year. In addition, he also scored seven points in five matches for the 2025 U18 World Championships team, including two assists in the gold medal match that Canada beat Sweden 7-0.

Excerpts of the prospective customer profile

“In Jindell’s case, there’s obviously some talent. He’s one of the most important auxiliary producers in the WHL, and he often puts his Calgary circlemates in the scoring position, both in the offensive zone and in the offensive zone. Jindell is surrounded by some great players, but he’s undoubtedly underperformed, especially his performance.

“Besides his offensive aspects, Jindell is willing to check his area and help. He may be small, but he participated in board battles (not half of it). He killed with a fine with even strength, power play, power play and awareness of every aspect of the game.

“Kindle’s consciousness is a little worth expanding. When he doesn’t have a hockey, he is able to reach high-crisis areas. He is a constant threat to the offense in this way. Combining it with defensive responsibility, Kindle has some clever attitudes to his game.

“While being listed as the center of his WHL player page, Jindell may be more suitable as a winger at a professional level. However, the possibility of becoming a center is not completely ignored. He has won a 54.25% draw this season.”

How this affects Penguin’s plan

Penguin needs to start planning for the future after Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin and Kindel lead this forward. He is one of the top centers in the draft, possibly becoming the top center for the Penguins (or at least the top six). Their prospect pool isn’t the strongest, and Jindell is the beginning of Dubas outside of two long-time superstars.
