Orioles activate Zach Eflin – MLB Trade Rumors

Orioles have activated right-handed Zach Eflin According to the team, the injury list will begin with this afternoon against the Angels. Right-handed Colin Selby Selected as Triple-A Norfolk, making room for Eflin on the active roster. Additional moves, Southpaw Trevor Rogers Activate from the injured list and select Triple A.

Eflin, 31, was on the shelf more than a month ago, when he was described as a “low-grade” LAT strain. Right-handed has been inspired by Acqur from the ray since last year's trade deadline. Last year, he reached 2.60 ERA in nine games, and despite an unusually small strikeout rate, his first three games in 2025 earned him 3.00 ERA. After Eflin's last start at the club, the Orioles were 5-6, but the wheels fell off since losing him in the spin front. However, the club has shown a brutal 9-18 record since then, but many of the struggles in these struggles are attributed to underperforming in the rotation.

Baltimore has had the worst baseball spin in FIP (6.10) since the day Eflin was released, while ERA was third (5.97). Tomoyuki Sugano Despite his FIP of 4.61 and 14.2% strikeout rate, it doesn't seem particularly sustainable at the 2.72 ERA, and the rest of the rotations are north of 5.00 and all over the board. Perhaps adding Eflin to Sugano's previous rotation can help stabilize things, especially if he rediscovered his 21.0% opponent hit 21.0% of his batting ability last year. Even so, if the Orioles have a great chance to return to the playoff photos, it seems that more reinforcements are needed.

Today, along with Eflin:Rogers, another potential rotation option is activated from IL. Get it from marlin in exchange for Kyle Stouses and Connor Norby During last year's trade deadline, Rogers struggled with four games with the Orioles before being drafted as Triple-A late last year. If he hadn't had a super high knee in January, he would have been in the rotation this spring, slowing the start of the season. He has been upgrading since then, eventually healthy, and can be activated from the shelf. That being said, he will be the club’s triple depth at the moment, rather than appearing in the Grand Slam immediately. Maybe it was a wise decision as he struggled with a 7.50 ERA in four rehabilitations this year.

Selby is the space Selby makes room for Eflin, who made his debut in the major league with the Pirates in 2023. He struggled with 9.00 ERA in 24 innings, and has since bounced between 10 2/3 frames in the past two years. Recently, he recorded 3 2/3 innings of 4.91 ERA goals for Baltimore this year. He will head to Triple-A as a potential depth option for advancing birds.
