Chelsea ace will leave when working at the former club to re-sign him

The Chelsea Chiefs are expected to encounter another busy summer income and expenditure window, with many players set to be included in the transfer list by Blueco and facing an uncertain future.

Players are expected to leave Chelsea this summer

It is perhaps a given that, barring any U-turns from Enzo Maresca, a pthora of loaned-out senior players in the form of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Alfie Gilchrist, Renato Veiga, Armando Broja, Raheem Sterling, David Datro Fofana, Carney Chukwuemeka, Ben Chilwell and Axel Disasi are all but set to quit Stamford Bridge.

Blueco started looking for new homes for all surpluses before June 1, with Chelsea’s wife members filling up the squad’s roster.

It seems that once their temporary spell elsewhere came to the conclusion, they all would return to Chelsea, while the likes of Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell commanded huge salaries and proved the waste of club pay bills.

Chelsea will be particularly keen to find new homes for the England International duo, and that's the same for summer Flop Joao Felix.

The Portuguese returned to West London for £45 million in 2024, with Cobham College graduate Conor Gallagher taking another path towards Atlético Madrid at the price of another deal.

However, both players’ fates are unique due to the “some kind of” trading agreement. Although Gallagher continues to be a mid-level tay post under Diego Simeone, making 46 appearances in all games and contributing to nine goals, Maresca has seen Felix as an unnecessary person for only one season in his stay.

Felix was loaned to AC Milan in January and failed to impress in San Siro, while Rossoneri decided long ago that they were about keeping the 24-year-old youngster in the season (Fabrizio Romano).

Benfica works to re-sign Joao Felix from Chelsea

It seems inevitable that Chelsea will try to get rid of Felix's return to Cobham's £130,000 per week salary.

Spanish news media Estadio Deportivo and its journalist Manuel Pedrero responded to this, which provided the latest news on the instability of Felix.

He wrote that Felix knew he needed to pack his bags and quit Chelsea this summer and he could have a huge chance to return to his former club. Benfica is said to be working to bring the offensive midfield home, with the Portuguese heavyweight seen as his most believable next destination.

In the alternative universe, where Aston Villa has financial capabilities that meet his requirements, Felix will now work under Unai Emery. The former Arsenal owner once confirmed that he could not completely let him cross the Villa Park line before Chelsea swooped, but it was indeed a high evaluation of the striker.

“He's a special player, not entirely impossible for us (signing him), but he wants to play for a team in the Champions League,” Emery said last year.

“We are realistic about how to improve and how to increase players to improve the team. He is very paid and Chelsea has paid a lot of money for it.

“I like him, but we never really ran for him. He could assist, score goals, build deeper, he could play in the small space and drive into the box. He was special.”
