Dan Rosen of NHL.com: (Mail bag) Martin Necas said last week that negotiations are underway between his agent and the Colorado avalanche. He earned $6.5 million in the final year of his two-year contract. If no deal was concluded beforehand, AVS might consider the situation with Mikko Rantanen.
Reports may have NECAS looking for $10 million per quarter. He scored a career-high 83 points in 79 games against the Avalanche and Hurricanes.
