Meet the new presidential election of England Golf – Golf News

England Golf is pleased to announce that Patrick Cunningham has officially accepted the invitation to become the presidential election of England Golf in 2026 and the presidential in 2027.
Patrick has worked in the construction and marine industries for more than 30 years and has been playing a role at England Golf since 1999, including the 10 years of the Club Services Committee, launching and producing the first survey of independent golfers, which led to the now very popular Igolf initiative.
He also represented the national governing bodies in the 2012 drought hearing, contacted the Water Company and the Environment Agency, and detailed the importance of water to the future.
Currently, the golfer of unit numbers is chaired by the Nomination Committee, Sustainability Committee and Voting Members.
He is also a member of the Centennial Council, having served as the 125th celebration of the Royal Mid-Surrey Golf Club and helped the Portmarnock Golf Club in Ireland conduct its 125th celebration.
Patrick is the current president of the Artisan Golfers Association (AGA), who has been involved in the organization since 1989 and is also the president of the National Association of Public and Proprietary Golf Clubs (NAPGC), another organization he has been involved in since 2004.
He took over the role of President of the NAPGC from the England Golf Hall of Fame Peter Alliss. Patrick is a proud member of the Royal Middle Surry Golf Club, served as a member of the Captains Committee for 10 years and organized the run of the antlers over a period of 20 years.

Patrick has previously played for Surrey Golf among people with disabilities as low as +3, including captaining Surrey Seniors for many years.
He won the Scratch Golf category and amateur world left-handed title in the 1990s, and he broke course records in six golf clubs, including at the Royal Central Racing, which he still owns today. The score is 62 points behind the wrench.
He also competed in the Antlers for 21 consecutive years, winning three times and playing in the 2013 victory in the Surrey Seniors in the Southeast Four Seasons, beating Kent in the final.
After accepting the invitation to serve as president, Patrick said: “I am honored to accept the election of the President in 2026 and the president of England Golf in 2027 and I would like to thank the past president and the England Board of Directors for their support.
“I look forward to taking on this famous role and continuing to promote golf for everyone, especially our future juniors.”
