Ostrava Open: Katie Boult beats Tamara Kopacz in three sets to win title

Bolt later joked: “It’s your birthday week. It’s a big week for you at 53, so this is your gift to you.”
“I hope we can continue to do a lot of work.”
This was in stark contrast to the victory of Britain’s Emma Raducanu, who was defeated by Romania’s Sorana Cirstea in the Transylvania Open final.
Bolt has lost just one of the five WTA finals she has reached, and her victory in Ostrava will join her two titles in Nottingham (2023 and 2024) and her victory in Santiago two years ago.
Despite losing three games in a row on the way to losing the first set, plus the opening game of the second set, Bolt was able to rally and take the final into a deciding set.
From that point on, she took complete control and broke the 30-year-old Kopaci’s serve three times to claim her first trophy in nearly 15 months.
Bolt added: “For my stable team, my whole family… everyone close to me knows how difficult last year was for me.”
“Today made it all worth it.”
