Manchester United signs Liam Delap in the match

Manchester United is reportedly leading the competition, signing Ipswich Town forward Liam Delap, surpassing rivals Chelsea and Newcastle United, according to Football Insider.
The 22-year-old striker has attracted great attention after an impressive season, winning 12 goals and has provided two assists in 32 Premier League games despite struggling at the bottom of the table.
A key factor in Manchester United's pursuit is manager Ruben Amorim's commitment to providing regular first-tier football.
Former joint chief scout Mick Brown stressed that Amorim’s assurance for the starting role could be the key to convince Delap to choose Old Trafford over other suitors.
“Delap is on the list of many clubs,” Brown told football insiders.
“I’m not sure he will be believed by Chelsea’s relocation.
“There are a lot of discussions about him on Man United, if you’re Delap, you can look at that Manchester United team and be confident that you can leave your mark there.
“Their current choice is not good enough, so Amorim can assure him that he will be their starting striker.
“I don’t think he can do the same thing in Chelsea, Newcastle or any other top-notch.
“They have signed many players who can’t join the team or don’t have enough players – Delap doesn’t want to be another player.
“He needs to go where he is going, he knows he will play at Manchester United.”

Delap's contract includes a release clause that would drop to £40 million if Ipswich was estimated, and this seems increasingly likely.
The clause has attracted interest from top clubs, and Chelsea is also keen on young strikers.
Delap is said to have prioritized a club offering European football, aiming to increase his chances of becoming England at the 2026 World Cup.
While Manchester United's current league position is outside the qualifying range in Europe, winning the Europa League can ensure their position in mainland China next season.
Reporter Samuel Luckhurst reported that the Red Devils are seeking to sign new strikers and new goalkeepers in the summer transfer window.
