Opening: Devers, Stott, MLBTR Chat

Today, MLBTR readers are following three things throughout the day:
1. DeversPresser, Giant debuts:
Amazing deal, long-term delivery of the Red Sox Rafael Devers Weekends to San Francisco have been a topic of baseball since baseball. Yesterday, Boston officials discussed the deal and its implications for the club in the reactions of media and organization members. Today, we think we see the other side of the deal for the first time as the Giants are expected to hold an introductory press conference for Devers when Slugger debuted and visited with the visiting guardian during the 6:45 pm local time. One problem that remains in the air is that Devers will play for San Francisco in the near term. While it seems likely that he will be working for DH for a long time, he may be asked to fill it at third base. Matt Chapman It took quite a long time to recover from a sprained hand that was expected to keep him out.
2. Stott’s Daily:
Philadelphia second baseman Bryson Stott Replaced in yesterday’s game Edmundo Sosamanager Rob Thomson revealed Stott’s overly stretched elbow to reporters, including Lochlahn parade of Philadelphia Inquirer. The 27-year-old will be examined by team medical staff, but Thomson admits his second baseman may be at least today’s game against the Marlins. Stott handled nerve damage to the elbow throughout the 2024 season, and while Thomson suggests it’s unclear whether there is a link between that old problem and the current illness, it’s certainly understandable to be cautious. Stott is in the midst of a downturn on the plate, reaching only .236/.300/.329 in 66 games. The SOSA number can handle the second base at any time Stott is away from the field.
