Canadians owe playoff berths to Dobass, but not rich extensions – Hockey Writer – Canadian Goalkeeper

Montreal Canadiens goalkeeper Jakub Dobes now plays a clear role in the Habs: He is a backup goalkeeper. The role of Canadians in a troubled medium-term future amid uncertainty, Canadians need to expand restricted free agents accordingly.

Now Dobes proves to be a good backup, with an average of 7-4-3 with a 2.74 target with an average score of .909 and a percentage saving of .909. No one would doubt the Canadian wouldn’t make it to the playoffs in the playoffs, and his presence is a reliable choice in the network. In fact, he gave starter Samuel Montembeault a break, at least more often than they stayed with Cayden Primeau, who seemed to lose all confidence, and it was their bondage.

Dobbs vs. Primeau

Primeau hasn’t seen Habs’ net again in the past regular season after finishing 2-3-1 with a 4.70 GAA and .836 SV% in mid-December. His struggle prompted the development of the Habs as they were promoted to face the Stanley Cup-Champion Panthers in his debut. He responded with a historic 4-0 behind closed doors and eventually won his first five games while also earning 0.941 SV%.

Dobes’ statistics qualifying downward should not be as worrying as Primeau’s decline to the American Hockey League. While the Canadians have to take huge responsibility for how Primeau effectively slipped away between the league and the Fed’s scrapping start, which arguably had a negative impact on his development, the fact that Primeau seemed to have become the NHL regular season late last season, leaving them unable to trade after they traded Jake Allen to leave them at a loss and prevent them from achieving a one-third discount. Beyond the 2024 trade deadline, Primeau scored 3-3-2 with a score of 0.921 SV% (in the fifth-place longer team). Therefore, it is natural to believe that Primeau will take a step forward in 2024-25.

He obviously didn’t, and he shouldn’t have stopped for general manager Kent Hughes. With Primeau’s contract, it’s understandable that his time in the organization ended with the current playoffs for the Laval Rockets, during which Primeau won his honors to rebuild his own NHL goalkeeper. After his relegation, he scored 21-2-2 in the regular season with 1.96 GAA and .927 SV%.

Dobes clear Canadian backup

However, Primeau’s ability as an AHL goalkeeper is rarely questioned. It’s safe to say that Canadians see Dobes as their guy (Montembier’s backward), but currently, the Rockets Net shared by Primeau with Jacob Fowler is one of the most important goalkeeper prospects in the entire league, and if it’s uncertain about Dobes’ position in the organization, it’s shared by Primeau. Fowler may not have been eliminated, but within a few months of joining the Hamilton Bulldogs, their 2007 Calder Cup run, Carey Price was the team’s last Blue Chip Network, becoming a regular in the NHL, once Primeau, who was once regarded as his heir after an equally successful college career.

If Primeau’s Supperillain origin story should teach Canadians anything, it is that they need to do better to carry the goalkeeper. Involved:

  • Give them as much time as possible in the AHL.
  • Once they initially promote, they can be left in the NHL.
  • Once they promote them, quasi-melos can be played.
  • Put them in the best position to succeed when they play the game.

As far as Primeau is concerned, the Canadians are unquestionable in every round, especially given the goalkeeper of the team’s goalkeeper at the time, Stephane Waite, who suggested they give him 200 AHL games. He is currently at 149 (excluding the playoffs) after taking the Rockets’ re-rope in the middle of the season. With Dobes, the Canadians at least seem to have made a consistent effort to give him tennis more often, and, as the team plans for this season are unlikely to be in the team’s plans, they technically take the former as long as possible.

So, as far as Canadians are concerned, Dobbs is where he needs it. In this way, it makes sense to take Fowler away as slowly as possible. Their current goalkeeper depth (including Dobbs) brings them the luxury of time. And, if it happens that Dobes takes the next step Primeau, then Habs can cross that bridge. You can be sure that they are happy, but now and now, it is a recipe for the disaster for Dobes to introduce too much short-term success in a season and a half, suggesting his lack of leverage, despite being in line with every puckpedia (far from arbitration) (which is shy with shy young talent rejecting young talent).

Dobbs and Wolf

Apparently, the re-signed Dobbs may be the Canadian’s biggest offseason priority (or the largest one). But of course he wouldn’t go bankrupt. Looking at Calgary Flames goalkeeper Dustin Wolf, who finished the game with a similar NHL piece at the age of 24, Dobes certainly has a clear statistical advantage. But if the Flame could sign a two-year $1.7 million deal last summer when they just traded Jacob Markstrom, Habs wouldn’t be more than his current two-year $1.85 million contract, with the team’s first place with Fowler and Fowler and Fowler in that pipeline compared to Montembeault’s two-year contract.

Wolf always expects Wolf to take more responsibility and enter his second NHL contract. Although he obviously exceeded the expectations of the final Calder Memorial Trophy finalists Next The contract will reflect the level of success. Dobbs’ next contract will reflect his current position in the depth map.

Dobes played his starting role last spring as Montembeault dropped out of Game 3 in the first round against the Washington Capitals. He didn’t play badly, but he didn’t play an extraordinary game where he belonged to the role. Any clarity about this effect will be in the next few years (probably after re-signing). But if 2024-25 shows how the team in front of him will measure, he will have no shortage of opportunities to play behind the team, which should make him the best position to succeed. This is a way for him and Primeau, who started his career with the team appearing in a traffic-friendly state. Hopefully Dobbs’ development from this point reflects the contrast. The same goes for his third deal with fingers crossing. However, his second one won’t.
