Nico Harrison of Mavericks meets Aaron Rodgers at Steelers TC

Dallas Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison was spotted at Pittsburgh Steelers training camp with quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Harrison returns to Pennsylvania after Harrison ventured north to exchange ideas with Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin.

Mavericks’ Nico Harrison visits Steeler’s Training Camp talk

Levelle Moton, a men’s basketball coach in Central North Carolina, posted a photo on his social media account, about himself, Harrison, Rogers and Charleston Academy’s assistant basketball coach Jeff McInnis having lunch at Camp Stills.

Tomlin also posted a photo on Instagram with Harrison, Moton and McInnis, “Love sharing ideas and talking with these guys. Always happy to bring them to the camp.”

However, unlike last year, Kidd was unable to visit the Steeler Camp this time.

“As a coach, you always want to be better, and when you talk about the Pittsburgh Steelers’ head coach, Tomlin is the best,” Kidd told Pittsburgh Post last year.

Harrison may have redeemed himself with Cooper Flagage

Harrison got rid of a disappointing, turbulent NBA season, where he traded Luka Doncic’s generation of superstars to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis.

Despite a massive fan bounce, the Mavericks were able to pick the No. 1 prospect in the 2025 NBA Draft as the team shockedly won the NBA lottery.

This ultimately incorporates new life into what might be a frustrating Harrison era.

Meanwhile, the Steelers signed with the New York Jets four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers in the NFL offseason after 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers.

The Steelers have not been in the Super Bowl since 2017 and have not won the playoffs since 2017. Pittsburgh has been a mediocre club since his retirement, two-time Super Bowl quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

Calf, Steeler depends on older stars

Tomlin now has to rely on a 41-year-old Rogers, while Harrison rolls the dice with Davis, 32.

Rogers hasn’t won the championship since the Packers beat Pittsburgh in Super Bowl XLV in 2011. Davis certainly hasn’t won the ring since being with the Lakers in the 2020 Orlando bubble.

Neither basketball nor football comes down to singles, but a team with a one or two superstars will certainly help.

Quarterback is the most important position in football, and one might say that having young talents requires building a championship-level roster in the NBA and NFL.
