- Friedman must have heard the name of Nic Roy, but is not sure about Nic Hague. Not that anyone is wrong, but the deal in The Hague has not been confirmed yet.
- Some say that if Mana goes to Las Vegas, Leaf will follow Las Vegas for tampering unless Vegas signed them.

“So, I think there is another reason people are wondering about that, people are not satisfied with it. But I still have to say that.
I am not guilty or not guilty of the crime here. I have no idea. I’m just a guy holding a microphone in the guts of the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, but some say that if Mana goes to Vegas, the Maple Leafs will follow Las Vegas tampering.
Again, I have no evidence that Las Vegas is guilty of anything, but it’s a time in the league and the team is very sensitive to it, as several general managers told me on Saturday, they think the NHL is eager to try to use someone as an example.
Again, I would stress that I have no evidence to prove Vegas guilty of anything, but if they make an agreement with Toronto, send a good player or give Toronto, I bet that the chance of Maple Leaf document tampering is gone.
So all of these reasons can be monitored faster, cleared the hat space, got good players in Toronto and eliminated any possibility of tampering with the investigation, and this agreement was done, all whispered around the league.
