NHL Rumors: Predators scouting Canadiens, Winnipeg Jets, Vancouver Canucks

Nashville Predators looking for Montreal Canadiens
fourth period: David Paniotta said the Nashville Predators have two scouts watching the Montreal Canadiens games on Saturday and Thursday. The Canadiens have been linked to Steven Stamkos and Ryan O’Reilly. Stamkos has two years left and a full no-transfer clause. O’Reilly has no trade protection and still has a year to go.
Will the Winnipeg Jets be looking for a veteran goaltender and possibly some blueline changes?
Mike McIntyre and Ken Webb of the Winnipeg Free Press: (Mailbag) With Connor Hellebuyck out for four to six weeks (14 to 20 games), the Winnipeg Jets could be in the goalie market for someone with a little experience. They will currently campaign with Eric Comrie and Thomas Milic.
NHL Rumors: The trade market is very thin right now
Defenseman Colin Miller didn’t get much playing time. Luke Schenn has struggled with a lack of foot speed and agility at the third-pairing Miller position. When Haydn Fleury clears the concussion protocol, will they give him a chance on the third pairing and push Schenn out of the lineup?
Vancouver’s Lucas Reichel experiment may not last long, other changes may be coming
Jeff Patterson, Canucks: (Mailbag) The Vancouver Canucks aren’t giving up much for forward Lukas Reichel. Strangely, they thought the experiment was over. They played him at center and it was clear he was better suited to play on the wing. They gave him three weeks at center and two weeks at winger.
Think forward Connor Garland has a good chance of being traded. He does not have any trade protection until his extension takes effect. The way he works, there should be plenty of interest and trade value. Pending UFA forward Kiefer Sherwood may also be transferred. While there’s no word either will happen anytime soon, it’s possible they could be moved later if they drop further out of the running.
Elliot Friedman of Sportsnet: The Vancouver Canucks want to get younger and let the team know they’re willing to listen to their “veteran players.”
One executive said they’ve made it clear that trading Quinn Hughes is not the Canucks’ top priority right now. The team also doesn’t feel like guard Filip Hronek is going anywhere.
NHL Rumors: Senators, Sabers, Kraken
Pending UFAs and one or two players with expiring contracts could be moved. Jim Rutherford’s history shows that he is not a man who can wait.
