Friedman: “Then, you absolutely can’t trade him.”
Bukauskas: “That’s as good as a gag clause.”
Friedman: “Seriously. I don’t know, I, I have to tell you, like, I always look around and I always say, like, there’s things I didn’t hear and I don’t like dumping other people’s information because there’s definitely things I didn’t hear and everybody has different sources. But I really can’t find a lot of Tippett’s conversations. Like, I haven’t found any evidence that he was there.”

After a hot start, will the Anaheim Ducks be looking for a big move?
Tyler Kuehl of “Daily Faceoff”: The Anaheim Ducks are off to a great start, and while it might be a little early to make a big switch, could this be an option down the road if they continue to play consistently? Speaking on Daily Faceoff Live, David Pagnotta believes they can make big changes, noting that two of their top players so far this season will need new contracts.
“I think for Anaheim, they obviously like the team they have right now, with Joel Quenneville coming off the bench and Leo Karlsson doing a great job. Carter Gauthier is great. A lot of their young guys are making plays. By the way, those two guys need contracts. So, that’s going to take a big chunk of their salary moving forward.
But they still have more cap space and flexibility to add. So, I think it’s going to be another situation, not necessarily lurking in the weeds, but lurking in the shadows, and that’s how I would describe the Ducks and Pat Verbeek.
If something comes along and it’s advantageous for them to take advantage now, I think they’ll explore bringing in a big fish. Otherwise, they’ll continue to take notes, keep an eye on things, and then maybe make a sudden move in the summer. “
