“I mean, in some ways, it’s a similar conversation with Nick Robertson, whose predecessor, Maple Leafs, asked for a deal last summer.
You know, he conducted arbitration for player elections. But essentially this sets the clock to some kind of decision, one way or another. Whether he is saying the extension with the leaves, whether they are moving forward from him, you know that at the end of the month or early August, it depends on the time of his arbitration hearing.
So, you know, with these players, arbitration can be a very useful thing. You know, before the player has the right to arbitration, you don’t have the ability to have that arm when he comes out from only the first three years of the deal.

So, you know, RFA often has no contracts throughout the summer. Then, the pressure point does turn out, did you know that contracts will happen before boot camp? Or did the player miss the time? You know this at least through the arbitration period, and it can do it in some decisions in July. So these areas are several other areas where I think we can still see some action.
You know, at this point in time, I think Leaf might stick with Robertson. We have to take a look. I mean, Toronto is a team that obviously seeks help in the top six. You know, after free agent day on July 1, there was some discussion about Brad Treliving.
So, you know, I can see that they take other actions that have a drip effect. Whether it’s someone like Nick Robertson, or, you know, Calle Jarnkrok, David Kampf, who got a signing bonus payment in July, so they’re actually paying less than the rest of the contract.
