NHL Rumors: Nashville Predators vs. Calgary Flames

Is Nashville really toxic?
B/R Open Ice Rink: Frank Seravalli says the Nashville Predators are the most toxic organization in the NHL from top to bottom.
“After you play a big card and they respond for you, you use a bullet here as an option in your route to try to get this team back on track and it’s bashing the player in the media. Okay, so he did that. And 11 seconds later, that’s how they responded.
I’ve been saying repeatedly for weeks that the environment surrounding the Nashville Predators is the most toxic from top to bottom in the NHL. No one in the Nashville Predators organization was in a good position, and they didn’t like the way things were handled.
NHL Rumors: Is Andrew Brunette’s situation in jeopardy in Nashville?
Then the game is not about having your players explode openly, and that’s not going to get good results. We saw the response all too clearly Monday night in Nashville. It’s a brutal situation and I don’t know where they’re going to go from here. “
Alex Doherty: Predators general manager Barry Trotz said Serravalli’s report was “not very accurate.”
Trotz addressed the report, saying “he spoke to Roman Josi and other key players and their report was the opposite. He said he knew what toxic stuff looked like and that’s not what this team is.”
Teams will be interested in Blake Coleman. He knew he and the others were caught up in the rumors
Wes Gilbertson, The Calgary Herald: Blake Coleman, 33, who has one year left on his contract worth $4.9 million and a 10-team trade list, has been one of the Calgary Flames’ most reliable forwards. Coleman, who would be the team’s top target if the Flames sold him, had heard the rumors.
“Obviously, you hear it, but I think it’s just part of the job,” Coleman told The Post before embarking on a five-game road trip. “You put yourself in this position (to get off to a bad start). There’s really not a name I haven’t heard of. Yeah, obviously some guys are easier to get off the board than others. Thankfully, I think, I learned my lesson early in the league that anything can happen. I was in New Jersey and they told me I was going to be a part of the core and the future, and two weeks later I was traded. So if anybody comes across the right offer…
NHL Rumors: Which veterans could the Vancouver Canucks actually move?
“I was a young guy with a good contract. I thought I was safe. They were talking about all the old guys and I was the first one out the door, so … that’s what it was. People had jobs to do, and honestly, it made my family happy, my parents and all the guys. I just muted the chat and went to play.”
