Seravalli said that while Brad Treliving does have a history of signing with Matthew Tkachuk, the Florida Panthers have a history of signing for Jonathan Huberdeau and Mackenzie Weegar, Tkachuk does have a year left in his contract. They don't have such a reward.
“But can they jump around in the market and find situations where Mana wants to fight for it, and everyone gets a win-win situation? Leaf gets some reward. That team has a chance to lead that and get what they want, and Mana gets eighth grade. It's totally possible.”

Larkin said he believes finding a puck defender should be the offseason top priority for Toronto Maple Leafs, as it is no longer Morgan Rielly. Leaves have a hard time leaving their area. They are bigger, more physical and blocked, but they need someone who can skate with the hockey.
Before UFAS IVAN Provorov and Vladislav Gavrikov, they were not hockey promoters, so they might have to go the trade route. Are they watching Noah Dobson or seeking crazy deals involving Rasmus Dahlin?
Seravalli added that the Puck Mover is required, but wondered if Sam Bennett needed it more, which would fight for the team.

Larkin added that if you think about the short term, take $14 million (not paying Mitch Marner) and give it to Sam Bennett and Brad Marchand.
