NHL Rumors: Florida Black Panthers and San Jose Sharks

In the open market, is that $10 million, or about $8 million caused from Sam Bennett, Florida?
TSN: Pierre Lebrun points out that Sam Bennett’s agent is with Mitch Marner, Darren Ferris, who likes his clients going to July 1.
LeBron believes that if Bennett enters the open market, he can get seven years and $10 million. So, is it $8 million to stay in Florida? Sam Reinhart re-signed with the Panthers for eight years last year for $8 million.
If Brad Marchand will re-sign with the Panthers, it may have to last more years and at lower AAVs.

San Jose Sharks Opened Several Things During Offseason and Draft
Sheng Peng: Mike Grier, general manager of San Jose Sharks GM, would say whether they would get involved in any high-end unlimited free agent like Mitch Marner, but he did say again that they weren’t interested in signing a seven-year contract with UFAS this offseason.
Curtis Pashelka: Grier in the state tax question/talk: “I don’t think it’s a barrier (for sharks). Is this an advantage for these teams? Maybe a little bit? But I think there are other things we have here to offer other things, quality of life and franchises that win history. Every market has victory.
Greg Wyshynski: Shark GM Grier said they have not ruled out contracts for teams looking for cap space. They currently have more than $50 million in space.
Greer: “You never know. You may have to sign a contract and get a sweetener with a draft pick or prospect.”
