NHL Rumors: Florida Black Panthers and Pittsburgh Penguin

The Florida Panthers will start internally, but may need to fill Aleksander Barkov’s slots externally

Pierre LeBron of Track and Field: The Florida Panthers obviously won’t replace center Aleksander Barkov, who lost seven to nine months. Inside, they might be able to transfer someone from the wing to the center, as many of their wingers are chosen as the center.

Sam Reinhart could move, or they would promote Anton Lundell, who was centered on the third row. GM Bill Zito believes that replacing Barkov is Lundell or anyone’s job. He will discuss potential external options.

“You are going through other rosters. You are going through who may have someone available. You are making a call. You are going to call. You are seeing what is available and how much is the cost.

“You made the predictions, so keep going. If we thought there were things that made us a team better, we would do it. If not, we wouldn’t. It’s really no different.”

The Panthers will have some flexibility in regular season caps, but if Bakov can return at some point in the playoffs, they need to keep the playoff caps in mind. Seven months are April, and nine months are late June. Zito is not expected to be in a hurry.

Will Evgeni Malkin be interested in the Florida Black Panther?

Dan Kingerski of Pittsburgh Hockey: Evgeni Malkin wasn’t at the start of training camp, he would think like the trade Brad Marchand made last year before the Florida Panthers’ trade deadline. Malkin takes Marchand as an example of what happens when your team isn’t doing well, and they may not want you. Winning the Cup is perfect for Marchand, but it usually doesn’t end that way.

In seeing Marc-Andre Fleury, this might give Malkin some thoughts as you can leave and come back to the hero.

After Aleksander Barkov fell down with a knee injury, he returned to the Florida Panthers, perfect for Malkin. Will Malkin give up the Panthers’ move-free clause? However, the Panthers are a little thin in the potential client pool.

A potential trade inquiry for spitting could be forward Mackie Samoskevich. He is the first round draft pick in 2021. His one-year, $775,000 deal.
