TSN: Pierre Lebrun says New Jersey Devils and RFA defensive player Luke Hughes continues to wear contracts. It is expected to be a long-term deal, but what does it mean for Dougie Hamilton’s future in New Jersey if/when he signs?
“Hamilton has three years left in the deal, $9 million per season, and has a modified no-trade clause that can be traded with 10 teams.
I’m not saying it’s an upcoming conversation, but something to submit, perhaps closer to the March 6 trading deadline. ”

For Mason McTavish, this could be short-term, and the Predator and Luke Evangelista aren’t close
TSN: According to Chris Johnston, the Anaheim Ducks and Mason Mactavish were unable to find the right dollar amount in longer trades. They may end up with short-term deals.
Johnston said it doesn’t sound like Nashville Predators and RFA forward Luke Evangelista is close to the deal, although a call can obviously change that.
Toronto Maple Leaf GM joins the top six fronts
