Calgary Flames could beef up offense
TSN: According to Pierre LeBrun, the Calgary Flames are 32nd in goals allowed this year and 29th last season, so this isn’t a new problem.
“General manager Craig Conroy isn’t sitting on the sidelines. He’s making calls and exploring the trade market, trying to figure out what exactly is there to help his team’s offense. Easier said than done. We’re still early in the season. Teams typically aren’t ready to engage in this type of trade activity until Thanksgiving, but Calgary will certainly want to see what’s out there early.”
Toronto Maple Leafs among teams calling attention to Egor Chinakhov
TSN: Pierre LeBrun said more teams are inquiring about 2020 first-round pick forward Yegor Chinakhov from the Columbus Blue Jackets.

“His first game here last week against Colorado, he had 26 scouts from other teams. We believe he’s been checked out with Columbus, including the Toronto Maple Leafs, who we know are looking for upgrades at forward. Detroit, Florida, Buffalo, and certainly given what I just said, the Flames will definitely check on him.”
Chinahoff requested a trade after last season, and the Blue Jackets didn’t want to just give up on him. They want a hockey deal, not draft picks.
Philadelphia Flyers will be looking for a top-four defender
fourth period: Philadelphia Flyers general manager Danny Breer has some salary cap space to work with, and after making some additions upfront, he’s looking to improve their blueline.
The Flyers are believed to be looking for a top-four guard in their 20s who would fit into their core. They could consider packaging one of their forwards along with draft picks and/or prospects. The Flyers may agree to trade 2020 second-round pick guard Emil Andrae.

It’s unclear who the Flyers are looking for or if they’ve contacted any teams.
The San Jose Sharks are believed to be willing to trade defensemen Mario Ferraro and Timothy Liljegren, both of whom are pending UFAs.
