NHL Rumors: Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers

Calgary Flames could end up losing goalkeeper on saves
Eric Francis from Sportsnet: Devin Cooley and Ivan Prosvetov are competing for the Calgary Flame backup position behind Dustin Wolf. Cooley (775,000) and Prosvetov (950,000) are both in one-way transactions and require a waiver to be sent to the AHL.
Cooley or Prosvetov may not be obtained through the waiver. Several teams showed some interest in Cooley, and several were interested in signing Prosvetov during the offseason.
Can Connor McDavid make short-term deals for less than $16 million a quarter?

“You know, with McDavid, I just think it’s, I don’t know, I’m honest about McDavid’s overall feeling. I think he’s going to sign for a short term. I think that number will be lower than we thought. I think if he stayed there, I think it would be less than 16.”
Kyproes: “If this happens, it’s my shock.
Bourne: “Let Kirill lead the league in AAV.
Friedman: “I, I, I can see it.
I think he would say, I can’t completely stop them from establishing correctly. So I still think he used to be short-term and if that happens, I’m willing to be proven wrong in this regard.
Jim Mathison: “McDavid signed the deal with the same $17 million AAV as Kaprizov. Maybe he will discount $18 million AAV for 2-3 years.”
