So he’s going to go through this discernment process, maybe on the other end, he’s signed a three- or four-year contract, or maybe he’s at the end of the upcoming season and said, “Hey, we’re just going to another Cup final, or we just won the Stanley Cup, or we might have won the best chance with someone else, I think it’s very likely that I’ve won the win with this core, and it’s a place to play with someone else, and this is where I can play with someone else. I want to do it in Edmonton, maybe I’m actually going to sign for eight years.
Therefore, there is such push and pull. But the interesting part I think is unless Ike Howard and Matt Savoie are in the top six of the season, even six in the middle of the season, and may have some issues on conor McDavid to address the root of those issues.
So the development in Edmonton is very interesting and of course we will continue to watch. As mentioned, this is more than just a huge story in the NHL after a very quiet summer. But when you have a player who has the potential to get into free agents or players getting closer, there will be a bigger story in all four major sports here in the United States.
