Newcastle focuses on ‘incredible’ defender Liverpool immediately scouts after Guehi

Newcastle United is reportedly still in the market, and Newcastle United has been competing for a Premier League rival in a match against Liverpool.

Newcastle sets defense volume in January

The summer transfer window may close, but that has not stopped Newcastle from shifting its focus to 2026. The Magpies’ apparent purpose is to be more prepared than this summer’s window, which has caused them to scramble to find options until they die after losing several goals against their Premier League rivals.

Giovanni Leoni is one of the targets, and it is no surprise that Newcastle’s frustration is Liverpool. Hipies even surpassed the Reds who pursued Italian defenders, but his heart fell deep in a familiar story about summer transfers to Anfield in recent months.

“We rejected a higher offer from Newcastle for Leoni. But Liverpool’s plans have changed. This is because the offer is very attractive and because Giovanni made it clear that he is happy to join the LFC.” (Parma CEO Federico Cherubini)

Eddie Howe welcomed Malick Thiaw in the summer window at least, but it’s easy to think that Newcastle still needs to add options to their defender core.

Fabian Schar and Dan Burn are 33 years old, and Sven Botman’s injury history is a concern in itself. The truth is that Newcastle simply doesn’t have a list of centre-back options except Thiaw that will peak in the coming years.

Now that Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa have solved their forward problems, Newcastle seems ready to turn to their backline. The report even suggested that when 2026 arrives, they can eventually make some revenge on Liverpool.

Newcastle targets Van Heck hijack

According to TeamTalk, Newcastle is now aiming to sign Jan Paul Van Hecke of Brighton and Hove Albion in 2026. Fighting against Liverpool, Liverpool is searching for the Dutchman with Marc Guehi, an alternative to Marc Guehi, and Hipies hopes to eventually win a Premier League title.

Now will be the best time to do so, too. Van Hecke is on the rise and Newcastle should do everything to sign. At the age of 25, he had excellent possession and surpassed his own ball. With his current Brighton contract two years left, it is no surprise that more and more clubs are interested.

Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler will be more talented than most people. He told reporters in May: “I think it’s very important for us to recognize that he is a very young player.

“He was 23 and played an incredible season. He showed great character. I like his role because he was straightforward. He said his opinion and he always had good intentions.

“Of course, in some ways, he needs to develop, but we always give him very honest feedback. I think all his characters can be captains one day, but that’s the long-term future right now.”
