Nationals will choose receivers CJ Stubbs According to Andrew Golden of the Washington Post. He will occupy his active roster of companions Drew Millassuffered a finger fracture earlier today. The Nationals already have two vacancies in the 40-man lineup, so the department does not need corresponding actions.
Stubbs, 28, received a call from the major league for the first time. The Philadelphia Catcher’s Brother Garrett StubbsCJ spent most of his career in Astros’ minor league system. He was released in May 2024 and then reached a minor league contract with the Nationals.
He is sometimes a good batsman among minors, but not a pleasant season. From 2022 to 2024, he combined the .202/.323/.404 slash and 98 WRC+. But this year, between Double-A and Triple-A, he has the .148/.279/.240 line and 57 WRC+. His walking rate of 11.6% is good, but his time is 37.3%. The baseball prospectus provided a high score for his framework on the farm.
The National currently has a 40-man lineup of 30 catchers. Keibert Ruiz It’s been on the list of concussion injuries for over a month and it doesn’t seem to be close to the reward. That left Miras and Riley Adams As two active catchers. With Miras injured today, Adams is the only healthy defender on the roster. Stabs will step in, presumably as a backup, and make his debut immediately after he enters the game.
