Nantes 0-1 Paris Saint-Germain – Report, results and goals as the French champion won the opening victory

Paris Saint-Germain opened their Ligue 1 campaign to Nantes with a narrow 1-0 victory, but they were struggling to work three points.
Luis Enrique’s side took ownership, but the determined Nantes defense shrouded the championship in the first half.
Goncalo Ramos hit the crossbar, while Kang-in Lee and Bradley Barcola provide a dangerous cross, but PSG struggled to find a breakthrough.
On the other end, Mostafa Mohamed and Yassine Benhattab threatened sporadically on the counter, although Gianluca Chevalier has not been tested.
Enrique turned to the bench early in the second half and introduced Ousmane Dembele, Doue, Nuno Mendes and Achraf Hakimi in search of greater offensive momentum.
When Mendes discovered Vitinha at the edge of the box, the changes paid off in 67 minutes. The midfielder’s efforts deflected Chidozie Awaziem’s evil deflection, Alban Lafont and ntyi who made mistakes in the bottom corner.
PSG thought they doubled their lead ten minutes later when Ramos calmly finished from Doue’s pass, but VAR dominated his narrow offside.
Visitors continued to press, Barcola flashed an inch wide shot, but Nantes was late and used Tabibou to search for the equalizer, replacing Tabibou’s fire during downtime.
Statistics reflect the control of PSG, with 1.33 expected goals compared to Nantes 0.1, but Enrique’s man was forced to figure out the victory.
Nantes heads to Strasbourg next Sunday, while PSG hosts aim to build on their winning start on Friday.
