Moyes says

David Moyes admits Everton is “not ready to start the Premier League season” and is just over two weeks away from the big kickoff.

Moyes repeatedly highlighted the Toffees’ sluggish transfer window, a reason to be of concern, calling for urgency again after he beat West Ham 2-1 in the summer series in Chicago.

Idrissa Gana Gueye put Moyes’ man in front, but the mistake of new goalkeeper Mark Travers allowed Lucas Paqueta to equalize in the middle of the second half and replace Niclas Fullkrug’s winner.

Moyes insists that he is not worried about the results – or the failures at Bournemouth and Blackburn and a draw with Ackerlington – but he is getting increasingly frustrated due to the lack of progress in player recruitment progress.

Everton has signed four players so far this summer – Travers, midfielder Charly Alcaraz, forward Thierno Barry and left-back Adam Aznou – but Moyes wants at least five.

He said: “We are not ready to perform well enough in this game. We are not ready to start the Premier League season.

“I’m not worried too much [by the results] Because I don’t have the players I need and what I want.

“Obviously, we went against it from the beginning. We knew it before we knew it [to the US] We will really oppose it. So, we will never be here to win [games].

“I think our current offense is really bad. I don’t think we have enough opportunities anywhere.

“I think the way we play in that field right now is really under par. But we made individual mistakes and that shows us that.

“It stands out tonight, some goalkeepers’ mistakes. We made a few mistakes over the weekend.”

Everton’s next is Sunday clash with Moyes’ former Manchester United.

By then, the Scots hope to support a team that he believes is lacking in numbers.

He added: “There is more fluid in the club now.

“But because of the bigger team and the boys who may not get the game, what they want to go is the player’s revolving doors bigger. So many clubs will sign a considerable number, now they are in the number, more than they have to do in the past.

“We want to make players early, especially here [to the US]I know we will be short. ”

Moyes and Everton have run out of time, and they opened their Premier League campaign in newly promoted Leeds on August 18.
