More Spain deserves

Spanish coach Montse Tome believes her team deserves more after La Roja suffered a painful penalty defeat to England in the 2025 Europa League final.
The world champion who beat England in the 2023 World Cup final is a favorite to win the Lioness and win the European title.
When Mariona Caldentey headed Spain with a 25-minute header, they seemed to have prepared.
But Alessia Russo upgraded for England in the 57th minute, and despite another half hour of domination in Spain, Sarina Wiegman’s side remained firm in overtime.
Spain paid for failing to make this superior quantity, and Caldentey, Aitana Bonmati and Salma Paralloulo were unable to convert from 12 yards, whose ladies allowed Chloe Kelly to receive the glory of England.
“I think this team deserves more. I think we worked hard for a long time to get to this moment with a game against the senior national team and the game we’re seeing in the game makes me think the team deserve it.”
“It’s a sport and you have to know how to lose, and today we missed the penalty.
“I think we’ll be better, but football is a sport where the best teams aren’t always a win. England is a great national team and they show their level in the game. They paint and then they defend themselves to get the penalty.
“This is our career. We work hard for it, and the ending they deserve for it.
“That’s why I have almost reached the point today, but it’s gone. I really cherish all the work done – we wrote history throughout the game and the team is good.”
