Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah admits that in his relationship with former teammate Sadio Mane, he aspires to be a star scorer at Liverpool.

Together with Roberto Firmino, Salah and Mane form a devastating offensive trio that defines Jurgen Klopp's time at Anfield. The two wingers scored incredible goals, but often faced selfish charges in helping another score.

Salah and Mane shared the Premier League Golden Boot Awards with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in 2018/19, both Liverpool stars are eager to score goals and become the team stars, while Salah admits that this often leads to some uncomfortable interactions with Mane.

He told French Football. “Please note that we were not professional until the end and I don’t think it will affect the team.

“Humans want more, I know, he's a competitor. On the court, we're not very close, but we always respect each other.”

Salah had previously admitted that he might be “selfish” to the mane at times, but insisted on statistics – his 18 assists, especially those for MANE – proved that he was always willing to make the right decision with Liverpool.

“People can think about what they want, and that's their right,” he said. “But I invite everyone to notice that the person who provides the most assists for the mane is me.

“We can look at the facts, but it'll obviously be easier to throw a phrase like this; it makes the headlines, and I know how it works. As long as it stays within respect, that's OK for me. But that doesn't mean that the opinion is true. It's the end of the day, and I know what I've done, and my conscience is clear.”
